Visions of the Universe, the latest temporary special exhibition at the National Maritime Museum, shows how we have captured images of the heavens over the centuries, from the earliest hand-drawings to photographs taken by the Hubble Space Telescope and the very latest footage from the Mars Curiosity rover.

Chris Levine studied at Chelsea College of Art and Central St Martins. In 2012 his work featured in The Queen: Art and Image at the National Portrait Gallery, London, and was also included in Out of Focus at the Saatchi Gallery. His exhibition Hypervisual 1.2 (1999) completed a tour of 12 countries with the British Council. He has work in the Science Museum, London, has staged light performances with MoMA, New York, and worked with a wide range of collaborators, including Antony and the Johnsons, Philip Treacy, Massive Attack, Grace Jones and the Eden Project.

Designer Christopher Jenner’s Beaux Arts ceiling roses inspired by Westminster Abbey fuse convincingly with Japanese Manga padded walls and English Craft haberdashers drawers - I did say kaleidoscopic. As a result, Pen’s is rewarded with my curiosity, my inspiration to investigate, to momentarily escape into that rabbit hole and identify (monetarily), with one of its scents.

Los Angeles-based artist Sterling Ruby’s interdisciplinary practice channels the conflicts between individual impulses and mechanisms of social control, American domination and decline, an engagement with irrationality and dysfunctional psychology, and its end result in upheaval.
Reptile scales vary in form from tubercular to platelike, or imbricate (overlapping). These scales, which on the surface are composed of horny ( keratinized ) epidermis may have bony plates underlying them; these plates are called osteoderms.

The street, which is lined with ornate Beaux Arts styled buildings, is the new home to Penhaligon’s eccentric new shop designed by Christopher Jenner. It’s been over 140 years since the doors of Penhaligon’s first emporium opened on London’s Jermyn Street, and now, the perfume connoisseurs are hoping to broaden the world of scent making with their highly detailed Edwardian inspired shop.
